Industry Experts Draft Results (posted 10.04.10)
by Gus Katsaros

This is be a keeper league: four players held from last season, with a one goalie maximum. McKeen's kept Vincent Lecavalier, Zach Parise, Dan Boyle and Tim Thomas.

The draft order was random and didn't follow the order of finish from last season. McKeen's ended up with the sixth overall pick.

The positions were: C,C,C,C,LW,LW,LW,LW,RW,RW,RW,RW,D,D,D,D,D,D,G,G,BN,BN,BN,BN,BN,IR

Categories are:
Forwards/Defensemen: Goals (G), Assists (A), Plus/Minus (+/-), Penalty Minutes (PIM), Powerplay Points (PPP), Shots on Goal (SOG)

Goaltenders Categories: Wins (W), Goals Against Average (GAA), Save Percentage (SV%), Shutouts (SHO)

Round-by-round rosters for this league are as follows:

Round 5
Pick Overall GM Player
1 1 Fanball - Flowers Ilya Bryzgalov (Pho - G)
2 2 FantasyMagReview Jaroslav Halak (StL - G)
3 3 RW - Levine Marian Gaborik (NYR - RW)
4 4 Y! Romig Patrick Marleau (SJ - C,LW)
5 5 NHL.com - Cubeta Jason Spezza (Ott - C)
6 6 McKeen'sKats Tuukka Rask (Bos - G)
7 7 TSN.ca Cullen Tomas Vokoun (Fla - G)
8 8 Rotoworld Marc-Andre Fleury (Pit - G)
9 9 fantasyhockey.com Ev Taylor Hall (Edm - LW)
10 10 Rotowire-Topper Paul Stastny (Col - C)
11 11 DobberHockeyAngus Jonathan Quick (LA - G)
12 12 SportsForcaster Semyon Varlamov (Was - G)

McKeen's Pick - Last season featured a tandem of Steve Mason and Tim Thomas in what turned out to be a disastrous duo that hurt the goaltending categories. Having already kept Thomas, it was logical to take Rask as they possibly split duties.

Round Notes - I wasn't expecting Taylor Hall to go so early and was hoping to snag him in the second round .. seven (7) of 12 picks were goaltenders.

Round 6
Pick Overall GM Player
1 13 SportsForcaster Marty Turco (Chi - G)
2 14 DobberHockeyAngus Michael Cammalleri (Mon - LW)
3 15 Rotowire-Topper Ryan Kesler (Van - C)
4 16 fantasyhockey.com Ev Kari Lehtonen (Dal - G)
5 17 Rotoworld Daniel Alfredsson (Ott - RW)
6 18 TSN.ca Cullen Johan Franzen (Det - RW)
7 19 McKeen'sKats Sergei Gonchar (Ott - D)
8 20 NHL.com - Cubeta Jonas Hiller (Anh - G)
9 21 Y! Romig Carey Price (Mon - G)
10 22 RW - Levine Andrei Markov (Mon - D)
11 23 FantasyMagReview Phil Kessel (Tor - RW)
12 24 Fanball - Flowers Zdeno Chara (Bos - D)

McKeen's Pick - Continuing the tradition of a solid defense built around PP quarterbacks, we chose Sergei Gonchar as he mans the Senators PP.

Round Notes - More goalies, with 4-of-12 picks coming between the pipes .. thought the Markov pick is good, but could have gone another round, even with Chara going as the last pick of the round .. Phil Kessel lit up preseason, so fantasyMagReview may have gotten a great pick in that slot.

Round 7
Pick Overall GM Player
1 27 Fanball - Flowers Brad Richards (Dal - C)
2 28 FantasyMagReview Ales Hemsky (Edm - RW)
3 29 RW - Levine Tomas Plekanec (Mon - C)
4 30 Y! Romig Christian Ehrhoff (Van - D)
5 31 NHL.com - Cubeta Chris Stewart (Col - RW)
6 32 McKeen'sKats Simon Gagne (TB - LW)
7 33 TSN.ca Cullen Thomas Vanek (Buf - LW)
8 34 Rotoworld Nathan Horton (Bos - RW)
9 35 fantasyhockey.com Ev Nicklas Lidstrom (Det - D)
10 36 Rotowire-Topper Niklas Backstrom (Min - G)
11 37 DobberHockeyAngus Steve Downie (TB - RW)
12 38 SportsForcaster Matt Duchene (Col - C)

McKeen's Pick - Another building block, as one of McKeen's keepers was Vencent Lecavalier .. Gagne has really developed a distribution game and could vault Vinny right back to elite respectability, a combination too good to resist. Yes, Gagne is an injury risk, it's worth the gamble.

Round Notes - Only one goaltender drafted in this round .. Steve Downie may struggle to hit that 20-goal plateau, but is a worth while selection with his PIMs contribution .. Backstrom was once considered elite fantasy value, which goes to show how things change fast.

Round 8
Pick Overall GM Player
1 39 SportsForcaster Tyler Myers (Buf - D)
2 40 DobberHockeyAngus Brian Rafalski (Det - D)
3 41 Rotowire-Topper Patric Hornqvist (Nsh - RW)
4 42 fantasyhockey.com Ev Erik Johnson (StL - D)
5 43 Rotoworld Wojtek Wolski (Pho - LW)
6 44 TSN.ca Cullen Ryane Clowe (SJ - LW)
7 45 McKeen'sKats Scott Hartnell (Phi - LW)
8 46 NHL.com - Cubeta David Booth (Fla - LW)
9 47 Y! Romig Patrick Sharp (Chi - C,LW)
10 48 RW - Levine Travis Zajac (NJ - C)
11 49 FantasyMagReview Derek Roy (Buf - C)
12 50 Fanball - Flowers Brenden Morrow (Dal - LW)

McKeen's Pick - A small run on defensemen changed the focus to LW, and Hartnell still has a 25-goal, 100 PIM's potential, so I'll take the double dip in categories.

Round Notes - Travis Zajac was a tad early considering there were other options .. Ryane Clowe was another good value pick there, with a 25 goal upside, similar to the value for Brenden Morrow to close off the round.

Round 9
Pick Overall GM Player
1 51 Fanball - Flowers Joe Pavelski (SJ - C,RW)
2 52 FantasyMagReview Paul Martin (Pit - D)
3 53 RW - Levine Loui Eriksson (Dal - RW)
4 54 Y! Romig Dustin Brown (LA - RW)
5 55 NHL.com - Cubeta Olli Jokinen (Cgy - C)
6 56 McKeen'sKats Danny Briere (Phi - RW)
7 57 TSN.ca Cullen Jakub Voracek (Cls - RW)
8 58 Rotoworld Alexander Frolov (NYR - LW)
9 59 fantasyhockey.com Ev Kyle Okposo (NYI - RW)
10 60 Rotowire-Topper Tomas Kaberle (Tor - D)
11 61 DobberHockeyAngus Shane Doan (Pho - RW)
12 62 SportsForcaster Dustin Byfuglien (Atl - RW,D)

McKeen's Pick - Pavelski was actually the target this round, and despite some off season turmoil, Danny Briere was the first RW chosen, the only position that didn't have a player yet.

Round Notes - Pavelski with the double position status is excellent value .. Loui Eriksson was another target and represented good value .. Kyle Okposo with the preseason injury hurts fantasyhockey.com EV .. I'm not a fan of Dustin Byfuglien and didn't even rank him so this selection is way too high for him, even with the double designation.

Round 10
Pick Overall GM Player
1 63 SportsForcaster Claude Giroux (Phi - RW)
2 64 DobberHockeyAngus Patrik Elias (NJ - C,LW)
3 65 Rotowire-Topper Mike Knuble (Was - RW)
4 66 fantasyhockey.com Ev P.K. Subban (Mon - D)
5 67 Rotoworld David Krejci (Bos - C)
6 68 TSN.ca Cullen Lubomir Visnovsky (Anh - D)
7 69 McKeen'sKats Niklas Kronwall (Det - D)
8 70 NHL.com - Cubeta Alex Goligoski (Pit - D)
9 71 Y! Romig Nikita Filatov (Cls - LW)
10 72 RW - Levine Alexandre Burrows (Van - LW)
11 73 FantasyMagReview Tyler Seguin (Bos - C)
12 74 Fanball - Flowers Steve Mason (Cls - G)

McKeen's Pick - While Lidstrom and Rafalski man the first unit PP, Kronwall is not too far behind and can fill in should there be injury or slumps .. injury held him back last season, if he stays healthy, it's a possible 50 point season.

Round Notes - Elias was sitting up high in my queue and wasn't surprised to see him go .. Filatov represented good value here .. thought Seguin went a little too high, and could have been available later on .. downgrade on Burrows, plus the injury make him a 20-goal winger here on in.

Round 11
Pick Overall GM Player
1 75 Fanball - Flowers Teemu Selanne (Anh - RW)
2 76 FantasyMagReview Brooks Laich (Was - LW)
3 77 RW - Levine Mason Raymond (Van - LW)
4 78 Y! Romig Brian Campbell (Chi - D)
5 79 NHL.com - Cubeta Milan Lucic (Bos - LW)
6 80 McKeen'sKats Devin Setoguchi (SJ - RW)
7 81 TSN.ca Cullen David Backes (StL - RW)
8 82 Rotoworld Mike Ribeiro (Dal - C)
9 83 fantasyhockey.com Ev Dan Ellis (TB - G)
10 84 Rotowire-Topper Alexander Edler (Van - D)
11 85 DobberHockeyAngus Erik Karlsson (Ott - D)
12 86 SportsForcaster Michael Del Zotto (NYR - D)

McKeen's Pick - The final offensive weapon in SJ available on the board, and he's a good possibility to get back to the 30-goal level.

Round Notes - Some good value represented in this round in the form of Brooks Laich and Mike Ribeiro .. thought Del Zotto may have slipped and Lucic was not ranked this high for McKeen's .. Y!'s Matt Romig unfortunately loses Campbell for a month with a knee injury.

Round 12
Pick Overall GM Player
1 87 SportsForcaster Magnus Paajarvi (Edm - LW)
2 88 DobberHockeyAngus Andy McDonald (StL - LW)
3 89 Rotowire-Topper Jason Pominville (Buf - RW)
4 90 fantasyhockey.com Ev Jordan Eberle (Edm - C)
5 91 Rotoworld Rene Bourque (Cgy - RW)
6 92 TSN.ca Cullen Scott Gomez (Mon - C)
7 93 McKeen'sKats Peter Mueller (Col - C,LW)
8 94 NHL.com - Cubeta Stephane Robidas (Dal - D)
9 95 Y! Romig James Neal (Dal - LW)
10 96 RW - Levine Nikolai Zherdev (Phi - RW)
11 97 FantasyMagReview Antero Niittymaki (SJ - G)
12 98 Fanball - Flowers Ryan Whitney (Edm - D)

McKeen's Pick - There is a risk to the selection of Mueller, however there are advantages as well .. he solidified the Avs power play from the point and has the double position status for more flexibility .. if he's out for a longer period of time, he could always go on the IR for relief.

Round Notes - Not convinced Paajarvi is as dynamic a scorer he's shown in the preseason and think there were other choices available .. even Jordan Eberle could have gone another round or two .. James Neal is great value here as is Rene Bourque - someone has to score in Calgary.

Round 13
Pick Overall GM Player
1 99 Fanball - Flowers Jay Bouwmeester (Cgy - D)
2 100 FantasyMagReview Jamie McBain (Car - D)
3 101 RW - Levine James Wisniewski (NYI - D)
4 102 Y! Romig Kurtis Foster (Edm - D)
5 103 NHL.com - Cubeta Mikael Samuelsson (Van - RW)
6 104 McKeen'sKats Nik Antropov (Atl - C)
7 105 TSN.ca Cullen Ryan Malone (TB - LW)
8 106 Rotoworld Zach Bogosian (Atl - D)
9 107 fantasyhockey.com Ev Jonathan Bernier (LA - G)
10 108 Rotowire-Topper Tobias Enstrom (Atl - D)
11 109 DobberHockeyAngus Tyler Ennis (Buf - C,LW)
12 110 SportsForcaster Kris Letang (Pit - D)

McKeen's Pick - Former Maple Leafs first rounder put it all together down the stretch after relearning pivot duties in the first half of the season .. he rounded out the center position with the focus on goals - 25 goals expectation.

Round Notes - Jay Bouwmeester struggled in all three zones last season and may not find the PP duty to hit double-digit goals .. feel Wisniewski is overrated offensively to justify taken that high with better selections available, like Bogosian and Enstrom and even Kurtis Foster in Edmonton.

Round 14
Pick Overall GM Player
1 111 SportsForcaster Guillaume Latendresse (Min - LW)
2 112 DobberHockeyAngus Brian Elliott (Ott - G)
3 113 Rotowire-Topper Michal Neuvirth (Was - G)
4 114 fantasyhockey.com Ev Tim Connolly (Buf - C)
5 115 Rotoworld Ryan Smyth (LA - LW)
6 116 TSN.ca Cullen Jonas Gustavsson (Tor - G)
7 117 McKeen'sKats Kimmo Timonen (Phi - D)
8 118 NHL.com - Cubeta Michael Leighton (Phi - G)
9 119 Y! Romig Tomas Holmstrom (Det - RW)
10 120 RW - Levine Ray Whitney (Pho - LW)
11 121 FantasyMagReview Chris Kunitz (Pit - LW)
12 122 Fanball - Flowers Jordan Staal (Pit - C)

McKeen's Pick - Continuing on the PP quarterback philosophy, with the firepower up front, someone will have to rush the puck up the ice in Philly .. that duty falls to the diminutive rusher .. doubling up on the PP categories is a bonus this late in the draft.

Round Notes - Ray Whitney is excellent value this late, while Jordan Staal may be a bit premature .. four goaltenders went in this round with only one almost certain to have first string duties, Leighton .. Ryan Smyth was also good value.

Round 15
Pick Overall GM Player
1 123 Fanball - Flowers Jason Demers (SJ - D)
2 124 FantasyMagReview John Carlson (Was - D)
3 125 RW - Levine Kristian Huselius (Cls - LW)
4 126 Y! Romig Troy Brouwer (Chi - RW)
5 127 NHL.com - Cubeta Keith Yandle (Pho - D)
6 128 McKeen'sKats Peter Regin (Ott - C)
7 129 TSN.ca Cullen Pavel Kubina (TB - D)
8 130 Rotoworld Patrice Bergeron (Bos - C)
9 131 fantasyhockey.com Ev Brian Gionta (Mon - RW)
10 132 Rotowire-Topper Jiri Hudler (Det - RW)
11 133 DobberHockeyAngus Bryan McCabe (Fla - D)
12 134 SportsForcaster Wayne Simmonds (LA - RW)

McKeen's Pick - Picking the final pivot, the breakout candidate Peter Regin .. he's got a 25-goal season in there, and that's good enough to warrant a spot on the roster, especially this late .. might also make Antropov expendable for a trade at a later date .. stay tuned.

Round Notes - Love John Carlson's chances of challenging for the Calder, but though he could go a little later .. McCabe is decent value here, as is Yandle and Bergeron .. Jason Demers may be a little early with others still on the board.

Round 16
Pick Overall GM Player
1 135 SportsForcaster Victor Hedman (TB - D)
2 136 DobberHockeyAngus Stephen Weiss (Fla - C)
3 137 Rotowire-Topper Vinny Prospal (NYR - LW)
4 138 fantasyhockey.com Ev Dustin Penner (Edm - LW)
5 139 Rotoworld Jack Johnson (LA - D)
6 140 TSN.ca Cullen Martin Havlat (Min - RW)
7 141 McKeen'sKats Ryan Suter (Nsh - D)
8 142 NHL.com - Cubeta Brandon Dubinsky (NYR - C)
9 143 Y! Romig Ondrej Pavelec (Atl - G)
10 144 RW - Levine Andy Greene (NJ - D)
11 145 FantasyMagReview Kris Versteeg (Tor - LW)
12 146 Fanball - Flowers Brad Boyes (StL - RW)

McKeen's Pick - Lost in the shuffle is the puck moving ability of Nashville blueliner, Ryan Suter .. gets PP and even strength minutes to compensate for a decent 35-40 point season, with a decent plus/minus component

Round Notes - Kris Versteeg could end up as a steal this late, while the hands down best pick was TSN's Martin Havlat .. Penner, and Jack Johnson represent excellent value, while Weiss could rebound somewhat .. Hedman also marks value in a round loaded with depth.

Round 17
Pick Overall GM Player
1 147 Fanball - Flowers Jamie Benn (Dal - LW)
2 148 FantasyMagReview Matt Carle (Phi - D)
3 149 RW - Levine Marek Zidlicky (Min - D)
4 150 Y! Romig Matt Moulson (NYI - LW)
5 151 NHL.com - Cubeta Alex Tanguay (Cgy - LW)
6 152 McKeen'sKats Alex Kovalev (Ott - RW)
7 153 TSN.ca Cullen David Perron (StL - LW)
8 154 Rotoworld Dan Carcillo (Phi - LW)
9 155 fantasyhockey.com Ev Sheldon Souray (Edm - D)
10 156 Rotowire-Topper Brent Seabrook (Chi - D)
11 157 DobberHockeyAngus Mark Giordano (Cgy - D)
12 158 SportsForcaster T.J. Oshie (StL - C)

McKeen's Pick - Ah, the enigmatic Russian .. played with wrist issues all last season that was prematurely ended with a knee injury, but I like the risk at this junction with a 25-goal upside, and better PP numbers via a connection with Gonchar, another Team McKeen's combination.

Round Notes - Benn was the target all along, but snagged early with probably the best pick of the round .. Aside from maybe Sheldon Souray, most players selected in this round were good value, falling here within range.

Round 18
Pick Overall GM Player
1 159 SportsForcaster Mike Comrie (Pit - LW)
2 160 DobberHockeyAngus Niclas Bergfors (Atl - RW)
3 161 Rotowire-Topper Tomas Fleischmann (Was - LW)
4 162 fantasyhockey.com Ev Jamie Langenbrunner (NJ - RW)
5 163 Rotoworld Joni Pitkanen (Car - D)
6 164 TSN.ca Cullen Derick Brassard (Cls - C)
7 165 McKeen'sKats Radim Vrbata (Pho - RW)
8 166 NHL.com - Cubeta Dennis Wideman (Fla - D)
9 167 Y! Romig Steve Ott (Dal - C)
10 168 RW - Levine Matt Gilroy (NYR - D)
11 169 FantasyMagReview Marc Savard (Bos - C)
12 170 Fanball - Flowers Anton Babchuk (Car - D)

McKeen's Pick - I get a lot of rolling eyes when Vrbata's name is uttered, but he remains a proven 20-plus goal scorer, and with the addition of Ray Whitney should once again hit the 25-goal mark.

Round Notes - I realize the selection of Savard, with all inherrant risk, however, it could have happened later in the draft .. Fleischmann and Langenbrunner represent excellent value this late .. Gilroy is a bit of a stretch, with the same regarding Comrie.

Round 19
Pick Overall GM Player
1 171 Fanball - Flowers Jean-Sebastien Giguere (Tor - G)
2 172 FantasyMagReview Jason Arnott (NJ - C)
3 173 RW - Levine Pascal Leclaire (Ott - G)
4 174 Y! Romig Milan Michalek (Ott - LW)
5 175 NHL.com - Cubeta Ryan Callahan (NYR - RW)
6 176 McKeen'sKats Jussi Jokinen (Car - LW)
7 177 TSN.ca Cullen Brent Burns (Min - D)
8 178 Rotoworld David Clarkson (NJ - RW)
9 179 fantasyhockey.com Ev Dennis Seidenberg (Bos - D)
10 180 Rotowire-Topper Steve Sullivan (Nsh - LW)
11 181 DobberHockeyAngus Alex Steen (StL - C)
12 182 SportsForcaster Evander Kane (Atl - LW)

McKeen's Pick - Taking the PP QB's allows my strategy to take advantage of goal scorers, and Jussi Jokinen is no different .. another 30-goal season may be a stretch, but there's 20-25 in that stick, and for this late, I'll take it.

Round Notes - Was hoping Clarkson may go another round, but with Hartnell already in the fold, I wasn't as worried about snagging him .. Arnott and Michalek are great value here, while Leclaire and Evander Kane are worthwhile gambles .. interesting to note, the Monster was taken before J.S. Giguere here.

Round 20
Pick Overall GM Player
1 183 SportsForcaster Shawn Horcoff (Edm - C)
2 184 DobberHockeyAngus Kevin Bieksa (Van - D)
3 185 Rotowire-Topper Jeff Schultz (Was - D)
4 186 fantasyhockey.com Ev Eric Fehr (Was - RW)
5 187 Rotoworld Tyler Bozak (Tor - C)
6 188 TSN.ca Cullen Michael Frolik (Fla - RW)
7 189 McKeen'sKats Dan Hamhuis (Van - D)
8 190 NHL.com - Cubeta Mark Streit (NYI - D)
9 191 Y! Romig Ian White (Cgy - D)
10 192 RW - Levine Ed Jovanovski (Pho - D)
11 193 FantasyMagReview Marc-Edouard Vlasic (SJ - D)
12 194 Fanball - Flowers Valtteri Filppula (Det - C)

McKeen's Pick - Former Predators blueliner has looked impressive in the preseason and has more options to get the puck out of the zone on the West coast there than he did in Nashville .. this translates into increased scoring chances and an offshoot of plus/minus stability with a lot of even strength scoring.

Round Notes - Streit was a gamble, but not bad for this late .. aside from plus/minus, there isn't a whole lot that Jeff Schultz delivers to fantasy hockey .. Filppula has underacheived, can this be the season he turns it around?

Round 21
Pick Overall GM Player
1 195 Fanball - Flowers Rostislav Olesz (Fla - LW)
2 196 FantasyMagReview Sean Avery (NYR - LW)
3 197 RW - Levine Sam Gagner (Edm - C)
4 198 Y! Romig Kyle Quincey (Col - D)
5 199 NHL.com - Cubeta Tuomo Ruutu (Car - LW)
6 200 McKeen'sKats Blake Comeau (NYI - LW)
7 201 TSN.ca Cullen John-Michael Liles (Col - D)
8 202 Rotoworld Milan Hejduk (Col - RW)
9 203 fantasyhockey.com Ev Alexei Ponikarovsky (LA - LW)
10 204 Rotowire-Topper Anton Stralman (Cls - D)
11 205 DobberHockeyAngus Ville Leino (Phi - LW)
12 206 SportsForcaster Scottie Upshall (Pho - RW)

McKeen's Pick - My sleeper extraordinaire, I've been touting Comeau since the trade deadline before he went on an offensive tear to end the season .. he gets it, works harder, uses his feet and drives his body on contact .. another 25-goal potential breakout.

Round Notes - Scottie Upshall is great value here, as is Hejduk, Ruutu and perhaps Gagner most of all .. Ponikarovsky and Leino are two good little gems for this late as well .. if Olesz can regain that form that takes him to the front of the net, he could be Flower's greatest selection in the draft.

Round 22
Pick Overall GM Player
1 207 SportsForcaster Braydon Coburn (Phi - D)
2 208 DobberHockeyAngus Carlo Colaiacovo (StL - D)
3 209 Rotowire-Topper Martin Erat (Nsh - RW)
4 210 fantasyhockey.com Ev Jeff Skinner (Car - RW)
5 211 Rotoworld Matt Carkner (Ott - D)
6 212 TSN.ca Cullen Derek Stepan (NYR - C)
7 213 McKeen'sKats Matthew Lombardi (Nsh - C)
8 214 NHL.com - Cubeta Joe Corvo (Car - D)
9 215 Y! Romig Brandon Sutter (Car - C)
10 216 RW - Levine James van Riemsdyk (Phi - LW)
11 217 FantasyMagReview Mike Fisher (Ott - C)
12 218 Fanball - Flowers Andrew Brunette (Min - LW)

McKeen's Pick - Was surprised to see Lonbardi still on the board, being the default #1 center - however miscast and better suited as a #2 pivot .. as a depth addition, this wasn't a big risk.

Round Notes - Stepan was a great gamble as was Skinner .. excellent value in Mike Fisher and Andrew Brunette, both 20-goal scorers consistently and both available this late .. James van Riemsdyk if he remains on a top line could be a steal here.

Round 23
Pick Overall GM Player
1 219 Fanball - Flowers Michael Grabner (Fla - RW)
2 220 FantasyMagReview Cam Barker (Min - D)
3 221 RW - Levine Chris Mason (Atl - G)
4 222 Y! Romig Colin Wilson (Nsh - C)
5 223 NHL.com - Cubeta Antoine Vermette (Cls - C)
6 224 McKeen'sKats Ty Conklin (StL - G)
7 225 TSN.ca Cullen Johnny Boychuk (Bos - D)
8 226 Rotoworld Joffrey Lupul (Anh - LW)
9 227 fantasyhockey.com Ev Andrei Kostitsyn (Mon - LW)
10 228 Rotowire-Topper T.J. Galiardi (Col - LW)
11 229 DobberHockeyAngus Justin Williams (LA - RW)
12 230 SportsForcaster Nikolai Khabibulin (Edm - G)

McKeen's Pick - Rounding off the goaltending was perpetual bvack up, Ty Conklin .. he was on Team McKeen's last season and didn't disapoint, earning himself a spot in 2010-11

Round Notes - Y! Matt Romig got a good one in Colin Wilson, while Galiadri and Vermetter are great value in the thirs last round .. Lupul is not 100% yet, but could become the best pick of this round with a 25-goal season.

Round 24
Pick Overall GM Player
1 231 SportsForcaster Keith Ballard (Van - D)
2 232 DobberHockeyAngus Patrick O'Sullivan (Car - C)
3 233 Rotowire-Topper Corey Crawford (Chi - G)
4 234 fantasyhockey.com Ev Kyle Beach (Chi - LW)
5 235 Rotoworld Dwayne Roloson (NYI - G)
6 236 TSN.ca Cullen Rick DiPietro (NYI - G)
7 237 McKeen'sKats Andrew Ladd (Atl - LW)
8 238 NHL.com - Cubeta Matt Cooke (Pit - LW)
9 239 Y! Romig Logan Couture (SJ - C)
10 240 RW - Levine Blake Wheeler (Bos - RW)
11 241 FantasyMagReview Brian Boucher (Phi - G)
12 242 Fanball - Flowers Tom Gilbert (Edm - D)

McKeen's Pick - There's more opportunity here for the two-way Ladd, including more PP time and even strength responsibility .. bodes well for a decent season, including a potential 20-goals.

Round Notes - Kyle Beach was sent to the minors and likely to remain there as the season opens .. Logan Couture had a good preseason, but I'll chalk that one up to the West Coast living Matt Romig .. interesting to see Roloson selected then immediately after DiPietro was taken.

Round 25
Pick Overall GM Player
1 243 Fanball - Flowers Gilbert Brule (Edm - C)
2 243 FantasyMagReview Chris Neil (Ott - RW)
3 243 RW - Levine Fedor Tyutin (Cls - D)
4 243 Y! Romig Todd Bertuzzi (Det - RW)
5 243 NHL.com - Cubeta Erik Christensen (NYR - C)
6 243 McKeen'sKats Dave Bolland (Chi - C)
7 243 TSN.ca Cullen Nikolai Kulemin (Tor - LW)
8 243 Rotoworld Kris Russell (Cls - D)
9 243 fantasyhockey.com Ev Oliver Ekman-Larsson (Pho - D)
10 243 Rotowire-Topper Eric Tangradi (Pit - C)
11 243 DobberHockeyAngus Adrian Aucoin (Pho - D)
12 243 SportsForcaster Zack Kassian (Buf - RW)

McKeen's Pick - Couldn't believe Bolland was still available here and took a chance at a nice bounceback campaign after back surgery limited his 2009-10 effectiveness. David Jones was also the other possiblity, but figure he could go unnoticed on the waiver wire until he starts lighting it up.

Round Notes - There's tonnes of value throughout this round, from Christense to Kulemin to Russell and Ekman-Larsson .. Not convinced of Tangradi being NHL ready, and Kassian falls into a similar status, but other than that, it's a good final round for everyone.
