Calgary - The Western Hockey League Player of the Week is goaltender Brent Krahn of the Seattle Thunderbirds. Krahn earned player of the week honours by recording three wins, including two shutouts. He recorded a stingy 0.33 goals against average and a 0.984 save percentage during the week of March 10th to March 16th.

On Wednesday, March 12th, Krahn turned aside all 26 shots he faced in a 2-0 shutout win against the Chiefs in Spokane. On Saturday, March 15th, Krahn recorded 15 saves for back-to-back shutout wins in a 2-0 victory against the Winter Hawks in Portland.

On Sunday, March 16th, Krahn made 18 saves in a 6-1 win against the visiting Spokane Chiefs.

Krahn, a 20-year-old from Winkler, Manitoba, was drafted in the first round, 9th overall, by the Calgary Flames in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Honorable mention goes to Jarret Lukin of the Kamloops Blazers.
