I said that the Canucks would eat them alive, but not only did Montreal get outplayed in their own zone, but they just flat out sucked. That was horrible. I mean, if i were a Habs fan i'd be hoping they just showed a poor effort.

Yet, let's face it.....and i said it from the very beginning folks, this defense sucks. With Markov it was better, but Markov plays around 25 minutes a game, or less. The rest of the minutes go to the horrible defense. I like Mara, but he is given too big a role on this team. I thought Weber looked clueless, and Hal Gill..........well, he should be a healthy scratch.

I can't blame Price one bit. The guy had no chances on most of the goals, if all then but one where he could have stopped.

I do blame JM for screwing every fantasy hockey owner that has Price. I thought it was a piss poor move on his part not to take Price out by the fourth goal, and if not...ok, the fifth. It was just wrong and if i were Price i'd be pissed off. Here is a youngster that is trying to have a comeback year, has showed many good signs of doing so since camp, and yet he gets left out to dry by his teammates and coach.

Horrible.

i said it would be slaughter tonite and it was.

nucks game is back - passing is on again, boys are driving to the net. Louie outside of a little cheating on his goal was solid. Habs hardly generated anything, which is the way van has to play - limit chances against. Habs were tired of course, and like you said, without Markov - their playoff hopes are done, even tho its' so early.

i felt real bad for Price being a hometown boy with family present. he didnt have much of a chance, the goals were beauties.

can i finally tell those sedin haters to shut the hell up? =0)
(i can't imagine this canucks team without them)

Well, easy easy easy on the "it's on" for the Nucks part. They were barely challenged.

It was a bit of both IMHO, Nucks were on, lots of speed and lots of skill, while the Habs sat back and didn't do much.

The problem the Habs have is that the Nucks have very fast forwards (Kesler, Raymond and Burrows are all very fast) and the Habs D is way too slow - just a recipe for disaster.

I feel bad for Price as well - the first 5 goals were 2 breakaways, a 2 on none, a bad bounce off his d-man to Henrik wide open in front and a tap in for Bernier. He had no chance.

Hi Beast,

The people in the Chilcotin will be pleased to know they are considered "hometown" by Vancouver. ;=)

If teams in the eastern conference had to travel that far for a road game they would be crying the blues big time.

i know you dont like to give van any credit at all, but that's ok.
i think van would have beaten anybody last night....including your might panthers/rangers. =0)

Vancouver played much like they did against Columbus after the three-goal outburst by the Jackets, only Mason stonewalled them. They look solid, the Sedins look dangerous every time they are on the ice, Luongo wasn't really tested but looked good.

Mason Raymond has an extra gear this year and plays with confidence, nice breakaway goal . . . Gillis was saying how he wanted another couple players to step up like Kes and Burrows did last year. Raymond and Bernier seem to have gotten the message.

Erhoff has a bullet as well . . . vast improvement over Krajicek, Baumgartner and the other puckmovers the Canucks have had.

I do give them credit! I expected them to tarnish the Canadiens, but i didn't expect the Canadiens to show no effort what so ever.

i really like Erhoff. it'll take him a while to get comfortable in teh new system, but imagine once he does, he'll rush up ice more often with is great skating, and use that laser of his. i think when M.Schneider appears, the PP will be a huge difference maker in terms making the canucks a real contender. it's an easy 1-2 goals right there each night given the fire power at the point - Edler, erhoff, bieksa, salo and schneider can all wire it. with the twins down low, it should be good times there. still Erhoff already has 4 pts in 4 games despite the team's bad start.

i think the twins will net 88-95 points this year, provided there's support there from the 2nd line. they look absolutely superb with burrows. it's strange seeing Henrik so confident with his shooting which began at the end of last year. man, for him to shoot on a 2-0 break, i was simply stunned! I said to my wife, he must've switched jerseys with his twin Daniel. it was a great move too, and i loved his goal against columbus even more - diving after a loose puck in traffic.

i must admit i hate this strange break now that we've finally won a game. sheesh. 1 game in an 8 day stretch - yuk.

im' just teasin. =0)
i think the Habs were wasted and ripe for slaughter but van did play very well.

anyhow, the Cdns are in so much trouble it's not funny. zero size up front, no speed in the back, and a slightly fragile psyche in net. and it doesnt even look like a jacques martins team. btw, who is supposed to lead that team now?

Ehrhoff seems way bigger than I remember when the Nucks played SJ, not one to get beat easily with physical play.

The other thing that occurred to me watching the game . . . O'Brien, Glass, Rypien, Hordichuk, Bieksa, that's a lot of regulars who can chuck the knuckles . . . do you call them the all-scar team?
