Ducks newcomer and former Leaf Justin Pogge has been reassigned from the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL to the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL. The seeming demotion has nothing to do with Pogge's play but is done to get him some playing time.
Geez not having our own AHL affiliate is going to be rough.

Yes it will be painful, I remember when the Sharks shared a minor league team with I think the Islanders in the MM era, I dont think we developed many folks that year.....

St John's Newfoundland is looking for a AHL team. The Leafs had their team there and they left because they wanted their AHL team next door. They drew well but the distance was too much for Toronto (remember the world ends at the 905 area code). Had an expansion Quebec junior team but that didn’t work out more to do with the owner than location. St. John's draws better for AHL than Juniors unlike other cities in Atlantic Canada. Ducks could set up shop there and call them the St. John's Quacks. Well its only about 10,000 K to travel.

They guy's best chance if he is a late bloomer, otherwise i think he hasn't shown any signs of being capable to play in the NHL.
