People can say what they want about him but the SJ Fans absolutely love the guy at this point! Joe Thornton was interviewed by the media and he was just gushing about the guy as were the fans themselves. Heatley scored his eighth career hat trick.
I did not see the game last night but got some comments from friends that went. The Arena was as loud as ever, no fan hangover from last season first round exit. The team came out strong and never let up.
As has been seen in the first few games on the road the defense at times is a bit lacking but it is still early.....

cool! Shark How many does he have on the season? I'm going to do a countdown from 60 to show media types that he isn't what he is portrayed from the summer's stories. 56 left!

He has four goals and nine points in four games.
I dont know what happenned to him in Ottawa but he has been a solid guy since day one in SJ.
The SJ press is nothing like those in Ottawa, Toronto or even New York, they want him to succeed in SJ.

I don't want to restart a debate, he was solid in Ottawa too, it's like you said it's the press.

and Joe Thornton has quietly amassed 9 pts in 4 games on 1 goal & 8 assists.
It would really be good for the game if some of Gretzky's records get challenged or broken this year. Big Joe & Heater belong in the conversation about those who might do it.

SJ's defense is drama, though. They need to fix it, big time.

I got both in my other pool so i really hope the keep it coming for the rest of the regular season. They could be one of the best duos ever, a pure sniper and a pure playmaker who are among the tops of their generation. However, nobody will care if they wont be able to finally transform their regular season play into post season success.

Roni who else is on that line?

You mean the Sharks top line upice? Devin Setoguchi is playing along Heatley and Thornton, a good fit if you ask me.
Speaking of top lines, when the play by play guy in the Van- Mtl game refered to Gomez, Cammalleri and Gionta as Montreals BIG line, i had to chuckle.

Thanks Pete, yea the GCG line in Montreal has speed but they look like they can get checked off the puck without much of an effort.
