Detroit Red Wings are reporting that Johan Franzen will miss 3-4 months with a torn ACL in his left knee. We all know "Mule" is one strong man but 3-4 months might be more on a wing and prayer.
This is a major hit that will show up in the win/loss column. Net crashers like Mule are tough to replace.

Although i really like the mule, i think the Wings will regret signing him to such a long term. With his kind of play he is bound to be injury prone. Its the 2nd serious injury for him but i think all those little injuries will take more toll on him in the upcoming years.
The good news for the Wings is, he will be well rested for the play offs when he is at his best anyways.

Any more injuries and the mighty Wings may have to work hard to make the playoffs just like everybody else.
