I'd liek to preface this rant by stating that I'm not a Wilson hater.
With that being said, what Wilson is doing to Schenn is criminal. He is contributing to the downward spiral of Schenn. Wilson limited Schenn's play, while the Leafs were up by 4 to 3rd pairing minutes. Sure he threw him back out with Beau to end the game, but c'mon; this kid is the future of our club. Wilson can be a prickly guy, and I'm afraid that he's gotten into Schenn's head.
I just pray that Wilson doesn't ruin his psyche. Luke is far too valuable of an asset to simply hammer on like was any other journeyman.
Anyway, that's my rant

Wilson can have these moments where he can actually damage a player's development. I remember how poorly he handled Matt Carle. My God, poor guy ended up going through some hard times. Good for him that he gained his form in Philly.

I hate to say it but Schenn deserved last pairing minutes. He appears to be in a sophmore jinx year and does not look near the same player he was last year. One of my concerns all along was that he was the type of player that would peak early but then only make baby steps in stead of strides towards getting better. Now my concern is will he will able to get back to the same form he showed us last year....Wilson gave Schenn quite a bit of time to get his game together and if he was a veteran he would not have been given that much room 9 games into the season. You have to rememeber that the Leafs are under a lot of pressure to win and Wilson can no longer afford to be playing a player in the top 4 if he does not deserve it..The Leafs really need Schenn to find his proper mix of strength, mobility and poise. Right now Schenn looks a little awkward at moments which is very non typical.

I'm telling you. Kessel is going to be eaten alive by Ron Wilson. He couldnt stand Claude Julien. because Julien made him work defensively.
Imagine that....Julien is known as a players coach. Wilson is a dictator who is tough on kids.
We might actually see an NHL player cry this season.

Julien as a player's coach? Not really. Players tune out on him rather quickly. Boston is the only team so far that he's lasted for two seasons.
I think Wilson knows what Kessel does, knows what he brings, and since they are so desperate for offensive talent, he will allow a loose leash on Kessel.
If he doesn't, then i'd fire Wilson the next day.

Actually, I agree with mainebb. Julien is certainly a player's coach. Wasn't that one of the reasons why he was fired in NJ. He was definitely known as a player's coach in Montreal and I was upset when Gainey fired him. The reason he was fired in MTL was because he was playing Cristobal Huet and not starting Jose Theodore and his $$$$$ contract.

From what i remember the players go "na na na na na na na" as they covered their years. I know in NJ no one had much faith in him, and rumors also had it that he and Gomez were not getting along at all.
I like Julien, but i think the guy is too stubborn on his philosophy and doesn't accept certain players for what they are.

waiting with baited breath to find out what Toronto has.....I have to admit after your posts Im a little less excited then I would normally have been. In other words I hear the element of truth you speak of. Only saving grace is that he his only 21 years old and I remember when I was 21 I was a little reckless with responbility as well.

Agreed. I don't know the deal with Julien but the Leafs are going to build their offense around Kessel. They aren't expecting him to conform per se, but to lead the pack. That is a huge difference from the way things were in Boston where he wasn't anywhere near top dog.
He's not going to be the first man back on the backcheck and the Leafs aren't expecting that out of him.
