on the first win of the season. Congrats on making my Ducks the new official get well game as well.

There's a few things I could whine about but that's never been my style. As a player or as a poster. Fact is, my Ducks just don't handle adversity very well. Forget adversity, Monster played well and we don't even hanble a challenge very well.

Anyway, I'm a Ducks fan. I see why we lost. I really don't see why Leafs won. So just want to pass along a way2be, (~) (~) a couple cyber suds for Leafs Nation to get the party started and get out of the way.

Leafs won because they got 13+ penalties...LOL, and Monster kept them in it early

Those are symptoms of a deeper problem Kordic27. Ducks are too easily satisfied with themselves after modest success and we don't handle adversity well or even rise to the challenge of a goaltender making 4-5 great saves.

We allow ourselves to sucked into the game the within the game. We whine about it. We trash talk. We don't play our game. We dig a hole.

Right now my Ducks are team in serious trouble.

I did not see the game.....but I appreciate the post. I heard on the radio that the Monster made a couple of big saves and one against Perry in the second that could have been one of the turning points in the game. First win for the Leafs yeah! (I agree the first win was against team that needs to get its act together emotionally as they have all the parts in place to be a good team) The Ducks if I remember correctly played similarly in the first part of the season last year and then realized that they had better get there act together when it mattered most. The Leafs and the Ducks are both playing catch up in there divisions right now but the Ducks have the horses to come back and string quite a few games in a row together where as the Leafs do not.

Where are Perry and Getzlaf this year Thrash? They are still playing well but not as well as they can. Where's the leadership with Pronger gone? I expected more from Niedermayer to be honest - he should be steering the team in the right direction.

Ducks also need to pick a goalie and stick with him - I guess with Giguere injured now they won't have a choice.

I dont think the Ducks are getting the goaltending they are used to + absence of Pronger. Giggy hurt and Hilly not playing as well as he can. Vancouver experienced the same earlier this year when Luo wasn't playing up to his normal snuff. Goaltending is such a fickle thing. Great teams can still win with below average goaltending but good teams will struggle a bit with it. Ducks and Vancouver are a good team not great and as such they need average goaltending or better in order to be a decent team. The West is such a tough division that it is hard for even good teams to make the playoff's....

Die-Hard,

Nieds did lead last night, he led the team right to the penalty box. Seriously, I was surprised to see the lack of discipline for their leader. He didn't even get his money's worth.

They'll be fine Thrash, they'll be fine....

Hey Die-hard, Mike Babcock would always say, "We need our best players to be our best players." Perry is off to a near point a game, ever irritating the opposition self. Teemu & Lupul have had some moments. Other than that there really isn't much whistle about up front.

Shakes, Monster gave your Leafs a chance a to win and they took it. No doubt Coach Allaire is grinning now.

Last season Ducks had the fewest home wins among all playoff teams. Oct/Nov has us hosting 16 of 21 games. We looked at it as an opportunity to reestablish ourselves in our own barn. Now we're 1-5 and have allowed 21 goals over the past 4 games.

Nobody saw this coming. Missing Pronger? Could be. It's not about one guy though. It's about 23 guys. We just returned Luca Sbisa to Lethbridge. The reason was to protect him from the team. That speaks volumes.

Luca Sbisa was sent down to protect himsef from the team? What was he doing nailing guys on his own team in practice?

Your right hockey is a team sport.

Glad to hear Monster played good........the Leafs need good goaltending and that is the one area they have not had any success in as yet this year. Monster played in two games and let in 5 goals combined. In both games he gave his team a chance to win and made some big saves.

Hey Shakes, here's the quote from Carlyle on Sbisa. It scares the beejeebers out of me.

“A lot of it has to do with the way we’re playing right now,” Carlyle said. “We think the young player has come in and played fairly well, but in the situation we’re in right now, but we think it could be a detriment to having him in a pressure situation that we’re in.

The decision was based on we want him to play in the league for 15 years, not for five years … if we can do anything to alleviate the pressure of this year, have him go back and play major junior hockey and do the things that he does well, continue to develop, I think the next step will be a lot easier.”

I was wondering about the reasons......."protect him from the team" comment now makes sense.........thanks for following that up.

I wish the Leafs could protect Schenn from the Team right now.........
